Archive: Finnmark

This place was last stop before Magerøya island and this is Ervin.

The first tourist on North Cape was an Italian priest Francesco Negri, who during 1663-1666 travelled in scandinavia. In 1670 he published the account of his trip titled "Viaggio Settentrionale" - it means something like "Trip to north". When he reached North Cape, wrote:

"Here I am at the North Cape, at the edge of Finnmark, and I dare say the very edge of the world since there are no other places further north inhabitated by man. This affirmation has now been fulfilled to my satisfaction, and I will return to Denmark and, if God permits, to the land of my birth."

Francesco Negri

it seems to me that this is the last turn on our way.
